![]() This applies to all online browsers and most Android phones or tablets. However, parental controls come in clutch when devices or apps don’t have manual site blocks. These aren’t exactly necessary if you don’t have kids, unless you want to restrict your own browsing. The only difference is the additional features parental controls offer, which includes setting screen time restrictions or working schedules and disabling unauthorized purchases. Parental control apps and manual blocking essentially do the same thing - they help you limit available online content. However, you may also wish to download a parental control app to get more options, such as setting screen time limits, location tracking, and making sure your child isn’t sneaking past existing blocks. These are handy for creating website blocklists as you can set them up directly on your child’s iPhone or MacBook. Many devices come with a set of built-in parental settings to keep children safe online. This includes online predators, internet addiction, cyberbullying, pornographic content, and radicalization. They filter or completely block upsetting online content, and keep children safe from online dangers. Parental controls describe any software used to control what your children use electronic devices for. What Are Online Parental Controls and Why You Need to Use Them You’ll need to restart the router once you’re done for the settings to work. Tap on “Website Filtering” and set up new blocklists of restricted sites. There, you’ll see an entire parental controls tab. If you have a Huawei router, you need to go into “Functions” and find “Security Settings”. Just log in to your router through the browser and tap on “Advanced settings” to access it. PTCL routers have a separate parental control section in their settings, which lets you quickly adjust allowed sites. Some routers (like Huawei or PTCL router) may need different configurations. You can also block entire categories, like pornography, adult content, or violence. Type in or paste the URLs of websites you want to restrict. ![]() If yours doesn’t, take a look at the instructions below to find an alternative way of blocking websites on Huawei and PTCL routers. More often than not, routers have this feature built-in. Log in to your router settings using your credentials. You can usually find it at the back of your router. Launch your default web browser and type in your IP address in the URL bar.

I appreciated the gesture but it was not enough to earn either star back. Our server also provided us free cream puffs when we were asked (shortly after we sat down and before we got our food) to move to a smaller table so they could seat a larger party. That aside, we all enjoyed our food as well as the atmosphere. They also charged us for each bottle without telling us ahead of time that they would. I can only imagine how much plastic waste they generate by serving all of their customers bottled water. I saw that many other tables also had bottled water. But if you’re in the Strip looking for a great crepe and a cup of coffee to go with it, head to Caffe Mona. They serve Stash Tea, which I think is among the worst tea brands, so they lost a star for that. The bottom line is that if you’re in the strip looking for a great cup of coffee, head somewhere else. Admittedly, I did both of those things, and for those wondering the comic was Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One, which I’ve been re-reading since seeing “The Batman.” While I would never go there for just the coffee, it’s certainly a comfortable spot to grab a breakfast sandwich and crepe with your girlfriend or to read a comic book while enjoying a coffee. That being said, Caffe Amor is not a full on coffee shop, it’s more of a general breakfast spot, and it’s a dang great breakfast spot at that. It’s a weaker cup of java, and this may come down to a matter of personal preference, but I like my coffee stronger. ![]() That’s not to say that it’s a bad cup of coffee, it’s fine, it just doesn’t excel. The coffee of Caffe Amor, unfortunately, does not live up to the atmosphere of the shop. That being said, I apologize to The Mandalorian showrunners Jon Favreau and (Pittsburgh native) Dave Filoni. I feel as though to accurately describe the decor and vibe of the bathroom I have no choice but to refer to him as Baby Yoda, even if it is inaccurate. That being said, in the cultural lexicon he has been overwhelmingly referred to as Baby Yoda. Short tangent: I understand that some people reading this are going to say “well, actually, his name is Grogu.” I’m well aware, I’ve seen the show. Directly above him hangs a life size doll of Baby Yoda. The wall is covered in graffiti art of Gollum from the Lord of the Rings holding a roll of toilet paper. That atmosphere doesn’t stop there, however, even the bathroom has its own unforgettable vibe. Even the check holder has a drawing of a rainbow umbrella on it. The walls are adorned with colorful, vibrant artwork, which compliments the rainbow umbrellas on the ceiling. Overall, the atmosphere is where Caffe Mona excels. ![]() They’re absolutely delightful to look at and give the restaurant its own unique atmosphere. The Strip District location brought these umbrellas inside, and the entire one room restaurant is covered in them. ![]() They’re well known for their rainbow colored umbrellas, which cover the patio of their Bloomfield location. ![]() A mediocre cup of coffee in the middle of nowhere is a lot different than a mediocre cup of coffee on a street with seven coffee shops.Ĭaffe Mona does not originate in the Strip their original location is in Bloomfield. My point: there’s a lot of coffee shops in the strip district, which in turn makes them harder to review. There’s also a lot more that I don’t really feel like naming right now. There’s so many options for coffee that I genuinely would be unable to name them all. If you were to blindly fire a nerf gun in the Strip District, there’s a solid chance you’d hit a coffee shop. You may assume that a stay in a parador would be expensive, but for the most part, you would be (happily) wrong: the majority of paradors in the network are rated 3* and 4*. The Civil War and the Second World War certainly shifted the government's priorities, but the network continued to grow afterwards, including 40 paradors by the early 1960s.īy the end of the 2010s, which was the decade of the tourism and travel boom in Spain, there have been 83 paradors in total! As of today, the number is 94, and each Spanish autonomous region (except for the Balearic Islands) counts at least one parador on its territory. In the following five years, the network of paradors expanded to Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca), Oropesa (Toledo), Úbeda (Jaén), and Mérida (Badajos). The picturesque corner of the Sierra de Gredos mountain range hosted the inauguration of the first parador in 1928 the spot was personally chosen by King of Spain Alfonso XIII. ![]() The project was named Paradores, back then a humble nickname, as it signified a simple place to stay akin to a motel. The idea came from a Spanish civil servant charged with elevating rural tourism at the beginning of the 20th century a private sector entrepreneur, of course, wouldn't have access to many square feet of culturally and historically significant heritage buildings. It is pleasantly surprising, then, to discover an already a hundred-years-old concept of sparing travellers such an anguish by turning monasteries, castles and palaces in picturesque places into beautiful hotels set against the backdrop of local natural beauty, steps away from restaurants specializing in traditional local cuisine. When the need for security (or laziness) strikes and I find myself ordering a generic "European" dish at a hotel restaurant, I quietly despise myself, imagining a small guest house somewhere nearby where the owner is grilling freshly shot game over an open fire for her guests, infiltrating the nearby homes with aromatic smoke. We book hotels and rent apartments not to stay in them 24/7, but to get out and explore new places, local customs and cuisine, discover museums and beautiful city views.
